  • The perfect barre for ballet and dance along with popular barre programs such as The Bar Method, BootyBarre, Balanced Body, Pure Barre and other programs that utilize a ballet barre.
  • Freestanding ballet barres are intended for use in keeping balance during ballet exercises. They are not intended to hold one's weight especially when pushing or pulling against the barre. The barre should not be used as a crutch. Downward weight is OK as that will not push the barre over. In ballet, learning to use a freestanding ballet barre without tipping it over is a benefit, as it helps to improve one's balance and strengthen one's core.

Great Bar
I bought this bar (barre??) for my daughters who do ballet as part of their rhythmic gymnastics classes. As they are young, I decided to get the heavier duty bar in case they decided to hang on it or do something else not recommended. It is very sturdy and easy to put together. I used my seven year old to help hold the pieces up as I fastened them in place. It is sturdier than they use in class, so the 'professional' bar is probably more than most people need at home, but it adds to my reassurance that a little misuse won't destroy it. It also adjusts easily to different heights. We are very happy. Note that we got the 5 foot long version which is enough for two people to practice on for most things. 4 feet is definitely a one-person at a time use.

Great Barre
Used several nights a week for ballet and technique classes in our studio and it is the best. We started with one 6foot and then about 2 week later ordered the 8 foot too. Easy to put together and very stable. Highly recommend.
